Dansk Daily ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our Danish vocabulary learning application.
Information We Collect
Dansk Daily is designed with privacy in mind:
- Learning Data: Your word progress, practice history, streak data, and favorites are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- Custom Words: Any custom words you add are stored locally on your device.
- Preferences: Your notification settings, category selections, and app preferences are stored locally on your device.
- No Account Required: Dansk Daily does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the app.
iCloud Sync
If you have iCloud enabled on your device, Dansk Daily uses Apple's CloudKit to sync your learning progress and custom words across your devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch). This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Third-Party Services
Dansk Daily does not use any third-party services, APIs, or SDKs. All vocabulary data (words, translations, phonetics, example sentences) is bundled within the app and stored locally on your device.
Data Storage
- All your learning data is stored locally on your device.
- We do not collect, store, or have access to your data on our servers.
- If you delete the app, your local data will be permanently deleted. iCloud data may persist in your iCloud account until you remove it.
Analytics & Tracking
Dansk Daily does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not collect usage data, behavioral information, or device identifiers.

The vocabulary database bundled with Dansk Daily is compiled from the following open-source and Creative Commons licensed sources:
- Wiktextract / kaikki.org: Danish word definitions and IPA pronunciations (CC BY-SA 3.0)
- Tatoeba: Danish-English example sentences (CC BY 2.0)
- wordfreq: Word frequency data for difficulty ranking (MIT License)
Children's Privacy
Dansk Daily is suitable for users of all ages (4+). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
